After the War is the seventh solo studio album by the Northern Irish guitarist Gary Moore, released on 25 January 1989 by Virgin Records.

Cozy Powell (born Colin Trevor Flooks; 29 December 1947 – 5 April 1998) was an English drummer who made his name with major rock bands and artists such as The Jeff Beck Group, Rainbow, Michael Schenker Group, Gary Moore, Graham Bonnet, Brian May, Whitesnake, Emerson, Lake & Powell, and Black Sabbath.
Nel 1988 suona nell'album Long Cold Winter dei Cinderella, mentre nel 1989, dopo aver partecipato ad After the War di Gary Moore, entra nei Black Sabbath con i quali realizza tre album, Headless Cross (1989), Tyr (1990) e Forbidden (1995).
5 apr 2024 · The driver – Cozy Powell – died that same night of his injuries in hospital. Next morning, the papers revealed that the life of Powell, a rock drumming superstar for 30 years, had ended abruptly and without warning.

1 ott 2004 · After the War è l’ultimo sigillo nel panorama Heavy Metal per Gary Moore che poi proseguirà la carriera di bluesman, ma è un bellissimo canto del cigno. Un forziere contenente canzoni bellissime, calibrate sulla fantastica voce del nostro e sui bellissimi passaggi melodici che Gary ci regala con le sue chitarre.
6 apr 2020 · The 80s closed with Cozy playing with Gary Moore (After The War) before joining Black Sabbath, with bassist Neil Murray and singer Tony Martin. Those two albums Headless Cross and Tyr are underrated classics; I remember a show at Hammersmith Odeon on the Tyr tour where they were joined onstage by Brian May.
19 dic 2022 · 1989 saw the release of Gary Moore’s After The War, featuring Cozy. A wonderful rock album it was Gary’s last straight rock album before taking the blues angle. Always loved that set, but sadly disagreements during rehearsals saw Cozy dropping out of the tour.
