When WWE announced its TV deal with NBCU for SmackDown to return to the USA Network starting next Friday, it also included primetime specials. The five-year deal also called for WWE to produce four primetime specials per year that will air on NBC.

I think it's the result of a slow process that they slowly worked at over the course of 20 years by repeatedly feeding us a steady diet of 50/50 booking, constant garbage finishes, and top babyfaces either handpicked or stuck with way beyond the point of reason.

They need to inject some life into Cody’s title reign. Other than the AJ fake retirement beat down it’s been a very generic babyface title run.
