Il Dancehall Reggae è un sottogenere del reggae che nacque alla fine degli anni ’70 in Giamaica; in quelle che erano grosse sale da ballo (dance hall) cioè spazi sia chiusi che aperti dove i disc jockey avevano posizionato i loro sound system per far ballare la gente.
