1 giorno fa · In the middle of page 101, in a section regarding amending rules, the words “somersault type jumps” were written in strikethru, indicating a proposal to remove them from the banned list. Below that, it read, “Reason: somersault type jumps are very spectacular and nowadays it is not logical anymore to include them as illegal movements.”

4 giorni fa · Somersault [ edit ] In the 1970s, some jumpers used a forward somersault, including Tuariki Delamere who used it at the 1974 NCAA Championships, and who matched the jump of the then Olympic champion Randy Williams .

And almost immediately, they began to pop up in lower-level competitions, including the Lombardia Trophy last month, when Malinin landed one on the way to victory.
