1 lug 2017 · Hello everryone, I am wrtiting an introduction of my company. Can I write: "ABC is a company with the missison of..." or "ABC is a company with the mission to..."? And in this case should I use "the mission" or "a mission"? Thank you.
1 ott 2024 · 5 Sep 2019. English (US) They are both correct. They are forms of ellipsis. (The) Mission (is) complete! (The) Mission (has been) completed! I'd say the second version is a bit more popular. We have some common phrases like "mission accomplished". See a translation.
30 mar 2014 · Two minor points: 1. "...so long that he doesn't even remember the reason why." or better "... so long that he doesn't even remember why." 2. Outside of the spy context, "to be on a mission" is used often in the sense of having a project/quest. E.g., "He is on a mission to find the perfect gift for his girlfriend."
7 mar 2011 · A quick Web search suggests that most of the uses of "in mission" are in a religious context. This usage may be common there, but not for other types of missions. I don't know this for a fact, since I've never been a missionary and have never had one as a close friend or family member, but it's a possibility.

But I think a commoner collocation is "mission accomplished". 2a uses the adjective complete and puts the emphasis on the finished state. 2b uses the verb complete and puts the emphasis on the action.
