Heighington CE Primary School is a Church of England primary school with academy status located in the village of Heighington, near Newton Aycliffe, County Durham. As of 2016 it educated 279 pupils aged 4–11. At its Ofsted inspection in 2019, it was classed as a ‘good’ school.
Heighington CE Primary School is situated on the outskirts of the village of Heighington, near Newton Aycliffe. Our school has a very good reputation within the locality, to the extent that some children travel from surrounding towns and villages to attend.
Heighington Church of England Primary School is a state primary school for boys and girls (50%/50%) between the ages of 4 and 11 years. It is a Church of England academy converter faith school. The school is one of the 18 members of Durham and Newcastle Diocesan Learning Trust.
At Heighington, we adapt our PSHE curriculum according to the current needs of our children, taking into account what is happening in the world around us on both a personal and global level. We believe our curriculum should be relevant, challenging and thought provoking with the child at the centre of the journey.
