One of the Caribbean's most elegant and exclusive enclaves, Lyford Cay, located on the western edge of New Providence Island in The Bahamas, has served as a refuge for global leaders, international luminaries, and royal families for more than half a century.
Lyford Cay was named after Captain William Lyford Jr., who was awarded the land by Royal Decree from King George III in 1788. The modern history of the island began when Canadian industrialist and thoroughbred horse breeder E. P. Taylor, affectionately known as Eddie, visited Nassau in 1945.
Whether dancing behind the Junkanoo, sailing in a regatta, entering a golf scrambles or tennis mixer, or simply enjoying time with friends and family on the beach, Lyford Cay Club is a place designed to make our members feel at home.
Lyford Cay Sailing is our private member sailing club, exclusively available to Lyford Cay Club members, with four Breta Sportsboat owners and 20 proud owners of the Olympic Class Laser, all stored at the club. Regattas are held on the busy holiday weekends just off the club's beach.

The Lyford Cay golf course was originally designed by Dick Wilson and redesigned in 2006 by Rees Jones. It is a 7,007 yard, par-72 course of championship calibre. The Golf Shop features a professional teaching staff and carries a full range of men's and ladies' sports clothing.
