  5. Sarah Lois Vaughan (/ v ɔː n /, March 27, 1924 – April 3, 1990) was an American jazz singer and pianist. Nicknamed "Sassy" and " The Divine One ", [1] she won two Grammy Awards , including the Lifetime Achievement Award, and was nominated for a total of nine Grammy Awards. [2]
