30 lug 2024 · Koki Kano, a former Waseda University Fencing Club member, made history by becoming the first Japanese fencer to win a gold medal in the Men’s Épée Individual event at the Paris 2024 Olympics. He defeated the French fencing hero, Yannick Borel, in the final match and also secured a gold medal in the Team Épée event at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
