I can't find a definite birth and death for JOHN NICOL. I know that he was a grocer as it's stated on Ann McDonald's death cert and also on his son Williams death cert. ANN passed away 1879 BAROSSA STREET PERTH, and John was deceased. JOHN and ANN married 1807 TIBBERMORE PERTH. I've found a grave stone in Perth for a JOHN NICOL dated 1849, this ...

18 lug 2018 · On John McDonald's death certificate the Informant (Edward Irby) state he had been in Australia for 30 years. The Death certificate states he was 39 years of age when he died so if these figures are correct he must have come out to Australia when he was 9 years of age. One would assume he came out with his parents?

He has been the father of 36 children, and is now “open for another match,” as sporting people term it. – Liverpool Mercury.
Christy, who said she was a "native" of Dornoch, arrived in Sydney in 1839 and was listed as a dairymaid, age 24 (so born around 1816) to a John and Margaret Munro. She said here father was from Lossie. She came as part of Donald McDonald's family, who were from Dornoch. I've tried for three years to trace her lineage.
