The Ketchaoua Mosque (Arabic: جامع كتشاوة), also known as Djamaa Ketchaoua, is a mosque in the city of Algiers, the capital of Algeria. It was built during Ottoman period in the 17th century and is located at the foot of the Casbah of Algiers, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Una bellissima moschea (MASJID) nel centro di Algeri, anche una bella area circostante. La moschea è costruita in epoca ottomana. I francesi, quando colonizzarono l'Algeria, lo trasformarono in una chiesa, poi dopo l'occupazione francese nel 1962, divenne di nuovo un masjid. Architettura straordinaria, assolutamente da visitare. . .

5 gen 2020 · “Ketchaoua” in berbero vuol dire “piatto di formaggio di capra”, è una moschea che fronteggia Place Ibn Badis e che è stata eretta nel 1436, poi ingrandita nel 1792, trasformata in cattedrale dai francesi nel 1832 e riconvertita in moschea dopo la guerra di liberazione.

It was originally built during the Ottoman Rule at the centre of the Casbah (Northern part of Algiers) in 1612.
