You can preview your changes and even commit them from there. Since it is a text file, Notepad or Notepad++ (Windows), TextEdit (Mac) or any other text editor can be used to edit and modify it.

2 giu 2015 · I believe the default for projects built through Visual Studio is /MD. If you use /MT, your executable won't depend on a DLL being present on the target system. If you're wrapping this in an installer, it probably won't be an issue and you can go either way. I use /MT myself, so that I can ignore the whole DLL mess.

As @BenCreasy said, Github-flavored markdown is not used in README.md files. Or, to be fair, not the full set of features is used: syntax highlighting and auto-linking URLs are available; hard line breaks, formatted task lists and references to issues—aren’t. –
17 ott 2015 · If adding a backslash doesn't work, try adding two: some parsers, like Kramdown, require `\\` instead to force a hard return. You could use in R markdown to create a new blank line. For example, in your .Rmd file: I want 3 new lines: End of file.
