Jeff Lynne è un polistrumentista, produttore discografico, compositore e cantante britannico di musica rock e pop attivo dalla fine degli anni sessanta ai primi anni duemila, leader della rockband Electric Light Orchestra.
Lynne was born in Birmingham and became interested in music during his youth, being heavily inspired by the Beatles. He began his music career in 1963 as a member of the Andicaps, leaving the group a year later to join the Chads. From 1966 to 1970, he was a founder member of and principal songwriter of the Idle Race.
