Komsomolsk-on-Amur or Komsomolsk-na-Amure (in Russian) is the second largest city of Khabarovsk Krai and the fourth largest city in the Far East of Russia, standing on the left bank of the Amur River, 404 km north-east of Khabarovsk (by road). The distance to Moscow is about 8,800 km.
Komsomolsk-na-Amure, city in Khabarovsk kray (territory), far eastern Russia, on the Amur River. Founded in 1932 on the site of the small village of Permskoye, the town was built by members of the Komsomol (Young Communist League), from which it derives its name.
