Conoidasida is a class of parasitic alveolates in the phylum Apicomplexa. The class was defined in 1988 by Levine [1] and contains two subclasses – the coccidia and the gregarines. All members of this class have a complete, hollow, truncated conoid.

11 mar 2021 · Four decades ago, Apicomplexa were classified into Conoidasida and Aconoidasida indicating presence or absence of a specific apical cell structure called the conoid that contains several rings. Super-resolution microscopy and proteomic data published in 2 different studies now suggest that this classification might be obsolete [ 1 , 2 ].
