In 2005 Gavin Friday played Billy Hatchett in the Neil Jordan film Breakfast on Pluto based on Irish author Patrick McCabe's book, which had been influenced by Friday's album Shag Tobacco. Gavin’s first solo album with Seezer was Each Man Kills The Thing He Loves, released in 1989. It was followed in 1992 by Adam ‘n’ Eve, and three years later by Shag Tobacco (which the singer called “a very sexual album’).

Mr. Friday's haunting vocals are superb, his voice ranging from deep and sultry, to a falsetto, to a teasing lounge lizard. Each song presents you with a different atmosphere, never giving into one style.

Friday lijkt hier meer te leunen op elektronica, atmosfeer en zijn suggestieve stem dan op echte composities en melodieën, en dat levert in mijn optiek wat te veel vormeloosheid op.
