Often regarded as a weak record by someone primarily concerned with motherhood, Mother's Spiritual is in fact a quite natural development of Laura Nyro's style, quite analogous say to the development of Roxy Music from Stranded to Avalon. The album has, on the whole, a spare, soft, soulful groove, and most of the songs are rather slow in tempo.
15 dic 2006 · Mother's Spiritual continues in that post-smile style and myself, I love all of her albums. The lyrics in this one are as personal as any of her other albums and the songs are quite melodic. This is another must-have for all Laura Nyro fans.
