They did not keep her and her three siblings in the Big Apple for very long. The family moved to Northampton, Massachusetts, which is where Soto would end up spending her formative years.

Talisa Soto je rođena kao Miriam Soto u njujorškoj četvrti Brooklyn. Najmlađa je od četvero djece u obitelji majke Talijanke i oca Kanađanina portorikanskih korijena.
