Selwyn College, Cambridge is a constituent college of the University of Cambridge. The college was founded in 1882 by the Selwyn Memorial Committee in memory of George Augustus Selwyn (1809–1878), the first Bishop of New Zealand (1841–1868), and subsequently Bishop of Lichfield (1868–1878).

Selwyn is a terrific place to be a student as it is a very friendly college, with excellent facilities, supportive staff, and a lively student body. Selwyn is a great college at which to study Philosophy in particular as we have a strong community of philosophy students (relatively large at 2-3 per year group) and an enthusiastic larger community of humanities students and Fellows.
At Selwyn we’re able to guarantee accommodation on the main College site to all students for the three or four years of their undergraduate course. One of the advantages that we have is that all our accommodation is on a single site – the maximum distance between any of our student rooms and the dining Hall is 250m.
