Did you do it asks: are you the person who did this/that? if there's consequences on me is it correct to say that to rebuke him? Why did you do it is often good enough.

The word 'ever' when used in a time that includes the present must be used with the present perfect. "Did you ever go to Brazil? I remember you always wanted to see the girls on the beach".
