Carry On Constable, in my opinion, is a very underrated film in the Carry On franchise. As with many of the early entries in the series, Carry On Constable has an enormous amount of charm. The plot is just a lot of good fun. It follows the Carry On tradition of lampooning a British institution, with Constable taking aim at the police force.

20 giu 2015 · Carry On Constable introduced the wonderful Sid James to the series, he would become one of the most beloved actors to Carry On film fans. Ironically "Constable" finds James somewhat removed from the type of character he would become known for, it's a restrained role and showcases his acting abilities as an official figure type, the glue binding the whole play together.
5 giorni fa · Written in just a few weeks, Carry On Constable is a direct descendant of Carry On Sergeant (d. Thomas, 1958), with many of Hudis 's favoured themes recurring. The film again mocks an authoritarian institution but, as in Sergeant, the digs are essentially good humoured, with the establishment upheld and the bumbling recruits making good under firm leadership.
