Our history. Our. history. Gordonstoun was founded in 1934 by the German Educationalist Dr Kurt Hahn. Our forward-thinking School has a fascinating past and much of what has been pioneered here has become part of mainstream education. Gordonstoun educated three generations of the British Royal Family.
Gordonstoun is one of the leading full boarding schools in the UK. Our buildings are set within a safe and beautiful 200 acre wooded campus, within walking distance of the expansive beaches of the Moray Firth, and within easy reach of the stunning Scottish Highlands. It is this location which lets us deliver our uniquely broad curriculum of indoor and outdoor learning.
Day. £17,705. £12,865. Overnight boarding for day pupils, subject to availability, costs £68.00 per night in addition to the day fee. Unlike many other Schools the fees cover virtually everything in Gordonstoun’s very broad curriculum including expeditions and sail training and most weekend activities for boarders.

Gordonstoun School is a co-educational independent school for boarding and day pupils in Moray, Scotland. It is in the north-west of Elgin. [1] Admission is not just a matter of money. There is an interview and references and exam results are considered. It is one of the few full boarding schools in the United Kingdom today.
