23 feb 2019 · January 31, 1941. Jerry Scheff is my all-time favorite bassist. In my mind, there is no greater bass player… ever. Jerry Scheff epitomizes everything I think that a bassist should be. Jerry Scheff is best know for his time with Elvis Presley & The Doors, but his catalog is extensive. I will let his bass lines speak for themselves.

Jerry Obern Scheff (fødd 31. januar 1941) er ein USA-amerikansk bassist, mest kjend for arbeidet sitt med Elvis Presley i 1970-åra som medlem av hans TCB Band og arbeidet hans på dei siste innspelingane til The Doors.
Jerry Scheff (Berwickshire, Scotland) spent his early life in Vallejo, California, moving to Sacramento when he was fourteen. In the early 1960s after a brief spell in the Navy and time spent building his chops in Southern California, he took the leap to move to Los Angeles, where he quickly rose to the top among the droves of pro session players.
