Magdalen College was founded in 1458 by William of Waynflete, Bishop of Winchester and Lord Chancellor of England.It’s named after St Mary Magdelene, a woman who according to tot eh four canonical gospels travelled with Jesus and his followers.

26 apr 2024 · This is a very special May Morning for Magdalen College as it coincides with the 550th anniversary of Magdalen College Chapel. William Waynflete founded Magdalen on 12 June 1458, but it wasn’t until 5 May 1474 that the foundation stone of the Chapel was laid by then President of Magdalen, William Tybard, and blessed by Bishop Robert Tully of St David’s.

In 2019 I worked at Pembroke College as the Deputy College Accountant before joining Magdalen as Controller. Role in College. David is responsible for supporting the Bursar in Budgeting, Management Reporting and Analysis, Endowment Administration and Capital Projects support.
