31 ott 2005 · Jamie Lidell leaves his title track from his album MULTIPLY to the remixers. Herbert keeps some of the R&B, but somehow makes it perky, adding more guitar plucks as well as a stumpy beat. Hot Chip, on the other hand, go deeper for a dark house track, with some hints of acid.

A couple shampoo ads and media coverage later, I can’t comeback to Multiply and see anything other than a bonafide, modern classic. It’s one of those albums that you mistake its concept for the music, as you just examine how well Jamie Lidell succeeded on the front of merging blue-eyed-soul with Warp’s signature IDM, glitch-heavy production.
