Following their legendary albums for the Korova label, The Sound signed for Statik Records, releasing the mini-album ‘Shock Of Daylight’, the full length album ‘Heads And Hearts’ and the double LP live ‘In the Hothouse’ recorded at London’s Marquee.
Shock of Daylight is one of the greatest post-punk EPs ever created and definitely The Sound's finest achievement - no mean feat given how fantastic their first two albums were. And while those two albums did have some outstanding songwriting and a delightfully dark and oppressive ambiance, they both had issues with consistency and outlasted their welcome by the end.
