9 ott 2023 · Amikor Telly Savalas közel 30 éve elhunyt, a hírekben elhangzott, hogy a halál a kaliforniai Sheraton-Universal Hotelben érte. Nem véletlen történt így: a színész, akit sokan csak Kojakként ismerünk, 1973-tól az 1994-es haláláig bérelte a Sheraton lakosztályát. Annyit volt ott, hogy a hotel bárját még az életében elnevezték róla Telly’snek.
Telly Savalas was an American actor and singer, best known for his role as Detective Kojak in the CBS television series Kojak (1973–1978). He also starred in the films The Dirty Dozen (1967), Kelly's Heroes (1970), and Escape to Athena (1979). Savalas was born in Garden City, Long Island, New York, the son of Greek immigrants.

He earned an Emmy Award for his part in the show. He also had a successful movie career earning an Academy Award nomination for Birdman of Alcatraz in 1962.
