Gertraud Jesserer war mit dem verstorbenen Schauspieler Peter Vogel verheiratet, der ältere ihrer beiden gemeinsamen Söhne, Nick Vogel, kam 1991 im Jugoslawienkrieg als Fotoreporter am Flughafen von Ljubljana (Laibach) ums Leben.
