Carlton Fisk was born in Bellows Falls, Vermont on December 26, 1947 and grew up in the small town of Charlestown, New Hampshire. From an early age, Carlton was given the nickname "Pudge". Growing up in New Hampshire, Pudge's childhood dream was to become a professional basketball star with the Boston Celtics!
Carlton Fisk played 24 seasons for the White Sox and Red Sox. He had a .269 batting average, 2,356 hits, 376 home runs, 1,330 RBIs and 1,276 runs scored. He won 1 Gold Glove award, the Rookie of the Year award and 3 Silver Slugger awards.

Fisk's most memorable years came during his first 11 seasons with the Boston Red Sox. After playing 16 games for the Red Sox in 1969 and 1971, Carlton Fisk earned the starting spot at catcher for 1972. He responded with a Rookie of the Year campaign. An All Star and Gold Glover in ’72, Fisk slugged 22 homers with a league-leading 9 triples.
