  7. Fisk's most memorable years came during his first 11 seasons with the Boston Red Sox. After playing 16 games for the Red Sox in 1969 and 1971, Carlton Fisk earned the starting spot at catcher for 1972. He responded with a Rookie of the Year campaign. An All Star and Gold Glover in ’72, Fisk slugged 22 homers with a league-leading 9 triples.
