Fear in the Night is a prime specimen. On top of Sangster as writer/director, we have Peter Cushing as an impenetrable headmaster and Joan Collins as a bitch, several years before she was The Bitch. Judy Geeson (a more 1970s actress it would be hard to find) is remarkably good in the central role of the girl losing her marbles.

Am intriguing premise is pretty much squandered the 1947 noir film Fear In The Night. The story, written by the same gentleman who wrote Rear Window, features a young man who dreams he committed a murder, only to awake with proof that the event might have occurred. The first thing one will notice is the dreadful look of this film.
