Down Among the Z Men was not a commercial success in Great Britain. Since the Goons were unknown in the United States at the time, there was no theatrical release to the American market. Years later, after Sellers became a major film star, bootleg 16mm prints of the film began to turn up in the US, sometimes under the new title The Goon Show Movie .
Synopsis. The Goon Show hits the big screen. Professor Pure Heart absent-mindedly loses the top secret formula in Harry Jones' Grocery Shop. "Bats of the Yard", as Harry calls himself, finds it and attempts to return it to the Professor.

1 gen 2004 · Down Among The Z Men [DVD] [1952] As a Goon Show fan for over 50 years it was good to see the Goons in action. By today's standards the comedy might seem a bit far fetched but when you compare it the current American tripe that's forced on us on TV the dated movie comes out a winner.
