Kitty Carlisle does the best acting herein (and lesser extents Henry Stephenson and then as #3 Bing Crosby are OK). Bing doesn't sing for the first 30 minutes as the film is more focused on Miriam Hopkins and that is the downfall of this movie. Hopkins is not convincing, not captivating and not interesting at all.

I knew from the trailer that this movie wasn't likely to be a gem, but wow, it was terrible. The writing is so forced, the dialogue unnatural. I don't mind overwritten, stagy dialogue if it's clever. David Mamet, for example. This script TRIES to be a writer's movie, but it plays like something written for a community college screenwriting ...
