This is a refreshingly innocent and moving film which inspired us to love our children more. There's a lot of humour mixed in with a gentle tale of loss and love. Blessed goes heavy on the repetition to make the point that lighthouse life is pretty dull. But the thing is, once the girl arrives, Nesbitt's routine changes, but it's still a routine. It's still repetitive. And it gets old fast. Nesbitt not being able to speak for most of the film is a big mistake.

10/10. A tale of survival in a malevolent world. diane-34 23 September 2009. We just returned from yet another brilliant and moving Australian film; it is the third of a trilogy of tough films that we have recently attended. Do not expect anything remotely comparable to something from Hollywood.
