Anthony Asquith's The Way to the Stars (1945) is one of the finest World War II films to come out of Great Britain, but, in a strange way, it's not really a "war" film at all, at least not in the accepted genre sense that it's filled with fiery battles and strategic maneuvering of troops.
8 gen 2016 · However, The Way to the Stars combined and came to balance with no hard core death, dying or silly romance, melodrama. It's a "7" because it is a movie about war and what a shame there is war. However, it is a well made movie with some historical reference and hope for living a best life - in spite of war.

Synopsis. Life on a British bomber base, and the surrounding towns, from the opening days of the Battle of Britain, to the arrival of the Americans, who join in the bomber offensive. The film centres around Pilot Officer Peter Penrose, fresh out of a training unit, who joins the squadron, and quickly discovers about life during war time.
