14 feb 2024 · Color film can be stored in a cool environment for up to six months. Black & white film can be stored at room temperature (around 70 F or 21 C) until its expiration date. You can store color and black & white film in the refrigerator for up to 6 months or until their expiration date. For a longer storage, freeze your film for 12 months or more!
24 apr 2020 · Now, just to be clear: using expired film can be risky. You win some, you lose some. In this case, I was also given some Instax Wide film which had expired in 2010. Here’s what happened when I tried the first pack: Once instant film is past its use-by date, the chemicals in it can dry out, causing the effects you see here.

13 gen 2005 · Posted January 13, 2005. Finally, if you still don't get the expiration date, get the numbers written vertically on the "opening" where the film comes out of the canister. It's like I-15 6230921. The "I-15" is always one position for the letter (can be any capital letter) and the "15" can be one or two digits.
From the couple of rolls I have in front of me (Kodak and Fujifilm) they do not have expiration dates on them. I do have the box for Fujifilm Superia 1600 Color Negative and with a number of C/ 4 6256585 it expires in April 2015. I don't think we can directly reverse map unless we ask Fujufilm. – SailorCire. 22 apr 2024 · It is typical for most cameras to use film that has a shelf life of 2-3 years after manufacturing, so most companies will list a 2-year expiration date on the roll. You shouldn’t use instant film more than one year after the date of expiration.
