Son of William Keith, 9th Earl Marischal and Lady Mary Drummond daughter of James Drummond, 4th Earl of Perth and Lady Jane Douglas. Brother to Geroge Keith, 10th Earl Marischal. He died in the Battle of Hochkirchen fought near Bautzen, Saxony, Germany.
