Biography Only daughter and heiress of George Bowes, of Streatlam Castle and Gibside. 1767, married John Lyon, 9th Earl of Strathmore (1737-1776); 1777, married Andrew Robertson Stoney, MP for Newcastle, who treated her with great barbarity; she was granted a divorce in 1789.
