GoldenEye a fait l'objet d'une novélisation par John Gardner, dont l'histoire reprend le scénario du film écrit par Michael France, Bruce Feirstein (en) et Jeffrey Caine (en). Elle a été publiée en 1995 au Royaume-Uni avant de paraitre la même année en France, aux Éditions de l'Archipel avec une traduction de Catherine Delaruelle, puis en 1996 aux éditions Claude Lefrancq .
