It was the first British soap opera to introduce an omnibus edition; this was broadcast on Channel 4 on a Saturday evening usually between 5 pm – 6 pm from 6 November 1982. During weekdays, Brookside was always broadcast from 8 pm, first on Tuesday and Wednesday, then Monday and Wednesday, with a few special five-nighters, with these episodes always airing Monday to Friday.
