29 lug 2019 · When Edward VII became King, Churchill was a Conservative MP for Oldham, one of the few two-member constituencies remaining in 1900. On 14 February 1901, the new King opened Parliament for the first time in his reign. In the Speech from the Throne, Edward VII spoke of the war in South Africa from which Churchill had just emerged.
