The main problem may be that most of the music in this sequel to Prince's 1984 musical Purple Rain is mediocre, mainly derived from rap and funk but without the energy those forms generate when they are presented raw. Even though the movie isn’t a sequel per se to Purple Rain, it revives key characters from that movie: Prince plays the character of "The Kid" and Morris Day plays his own character.

4 ott 2016 · I love this movie, I watch it daily. I am in love with the performances of Joy in Repetition, The Question of U, and Thieves in the Temple!! Prince is absolutely gorgeous in this movie, perhaps the best of his 3 motion pics. Morris Day and the Time performances are fun and very theatrical. Morris Day and Jerome are their normal comical selves!!
