METHOD ACTING. At the core of the Strasberg curriculum are the Method Acting classes. Students are required to take two Method Acting classes per 10- or 12-week term, each with a different teacher. These classes are designed to train the actor in Lee Strasberg’s systematic approach to acting, known throughout the world as The Method.
23 apr 2023 · The curriculum at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute, designed by Lee, provides the actor with opportunities to pursue his or her work systematically and to gain firsthand knowledge of the fundamental concepts of the Lee Strasberg Method Acting Technique. Through class work, seminars, exercises, scene work, and discussions, students are encouraged to develop of their art and themselves.
Formerly a professor at NYU/Tisch Film & TV Department, Ms. Cohen has been a faculty member at The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute for over 25 years. In October, 2008, Ms. Cohen was honored to represent the United States in the work of Lee Strasberg, at the international Methodic Theatrical Festival in Tuscany.
The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute celebrates over 50 years of actor training and is the only school that teaches Lee Strasberg’s work in its complete and authentic form. Staff and teachers conducting classes have been selected for their comprehensive knowledge of Lee Strasberg’s work and their ability to apply it to the problems of the actor.

Patrick Bonavitacola received his training as an actor at The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute from Lee Strasberg. Lee invited him to become part of The Actors Studio community in 1979, and he has been associated with The Studio for more than 35 years now—first as an actor, and for the last 15 years as a member of the Playwright/Directors Unit.
