foundation of the scottish church college & collegiate school The Scottish Church Collegiate School is a selective boys' school in north Kolkata, West Bengal, having a history of more than 190 years. The school was founded in 1830 by Reverend Alexander Duff, who came to Calcutta as the first missionary of the Church of Scotland to India.
Today the Scottish College is based in Glasgow and delivers formation programmes for the Ministry of Word and Sacraments of the United Reformed Church, as well as promoting and supporting learning for the whole church. Our courses are open to ordinands and members of other denominations. Students come from Scotland and from further afield.

Scottish Church College, Kolkata offers scholarships to its meritorious students as well as provides financial aid to promote education. Aside from scholarships, the college also rewards its meritorious students by awarding them with certificates, awards, prizes, and medals, awarded by the various departments of the college, celebrating their academic achievements and excellence.
Our Founder. The inception of what is now known as Scottish Church College is interlaced with the life of Dr. Alexander Duff, DD, LLD (1806-1878), the first overseas missionary of the Church of Scotland to India.
