  2. foundation of the scottish church college & collegiate school The Scottish Church Collegiate School is a selective boys' school in north Kolkata, West Bengal, having a history of more than 190 years. The school was founded in 1830 by Reverend Alexander Duff, who came to Calcutta as the first missionary of the Church of Scotland to India.

Today the Scottish College is based in Glasgow and delivers formation programmes for the Ministry of Word and Sacraments of the United Reformed Church, as well as promoting and supporting learning for the whole church.
