John Foxx wurde 1948 in Chorley in Nordwestengland als Dennis Leigh geboren. [1] Sein Vater war als Grubenarbeiter und Boxer, seine Mutter als Mühlenarbeiterin tätig. Er besuchte in Chorley die St. Mary’s-Grundschule und die St. Augustine’s-Oberschule für Jungen sowie anschließend das Art College in Preston. [2]
