Die Stimme von Rita Coolidge passt gut zu Kris Kristofferson; ein paar Lieder darauf werden auch diejenigen kennen, denen der Sänger Kris Kristofferson nichts (oder nur wenig) sagt. Mein Lieblingssong darauf ist RAIN.

But, when Rita came along, he pulled out his best songs, hired the best studio musicians, and recorded some of the best country duets ever! He went on to be a Hollywood star, but I remember him best singing "Lover Please" and "I'd Rather be Sorry" with his fine-singing squeeze.

With the help of his manager, Larry Parnes, Kristofferson recorded for Top Rank Records under the name Kris Carson. Parnes was working to sell Kristofferson as "a Yank at Oxford" to the British public; Kristofferson was willing to accept that promotional approach if it helped his singing career, which he hoped would enable him to progress toward his goal of becoming a novelist.
