Ook is hij bekend als scriptschrijver , onder meer voor de televisieserie The Twilight Zone en de film Duel onder regie van Steven Spielberg uit 1971.

20 apr 2020 · Richard Matheson non voleva essere incasellato in un genere letterario. Non gli importava di occupare uno spazio fisso, voleva solo scrivere storie liberamente. E le sue storie libere lo erano davvero, spaziando dalla fantascienza, al fantasy, all'horror (e non solo) .
Si chiamava Richard Matheson. È scomparso, ieri, a 87 anni. Matheson nasce a Allendale nel ’26 da una famiglia di origine norvegese, cresce a Brooklyn e combatte con onore nella Seconda guerra mondiale. L’approdo alla scrittura è precoce: già nel ’50 il giovane Matheson è conosciuto per i suoi racconti dal tipico finale a sorpresa.
