Mainly this is the story of Isaac Cline, who was a meteorologist at the time, when meteorology and forecasting were rudimentary (compared to today).
The 1900 Galveston Hurricane goes down in the record books as the deadliest hurricane in US History by far, with an estimated 8,000 to 12,000 dead. Considering the devastation and the wealth of available primary sources, it is surprising that it took until the 100th anniversary for an historian to write a full account of the storm.
