After Wyatt left her for another woman, she later moved to Pinal City, Arizona Territory, where she apparently overdosed on laudanum and alcohol. Date. before 1888.
Mattie lived with Wyatt’s family in California briefly, then went to Globe, Arizona. Blaylock family members indicate Mattie had abscessed teeth and possibly cancer by the late 1880s. Whether her death in Pinal, Arizona, in 1887 was suicide or an accidental overdose is unknown.
1 feb 2024 · Some time after Wyatt met Celie (Mattie) Blaylock, the couple lived for a few weeks with Newton Earp and his wife. There is no record of the marriage of Celie and Wyatt but Celie’s letters to her sister Sarah over the course of a fifteen-year period use “Mrs. Wyatt Earp” within the return address.

Earp's former wife, Mattie Blaylock traveled with other Earp family members in April 1882, to Colton, California, waiting for Wyatt to telegraph her and invite her to join him. Wyatt never sent for her and she moved to Pinal, Arizona, where she resumed life as a prostitute, eventually committing suicide by taking an overdose of laudanum . [23]
