Robert Korzeniowski discovered race walking at the age of 15, thanks to his sports teacher. In the early 1990s, he moved to northern France, where he had better training conditions. Robert Korzeniowski is a great ambassador for his sport, always keen to take part in mass sport events to promote race walking and to help young athletes.

27 ago 2004 · Korzeniowski walks tall Four years earlier in Sydney, Poland’s Robert Korzeniowski had become the most celebrated race walker in Olympic history after winning both the 20km and 50km titles. It was the first time anyone had done the double, and also the first time that anyone had won the 50km title twice (Korzeniowski had also won the longer event at Atlanta 19960).
