St Edmund’s College is the oldest Catholic school in England, with a distinguished alumni of 20 canonised saints and 133 martyrs. Founded in 1568 as the English College in Douay, France by Cardinal William Allen, the College was intended to be a seminary to train priests. Eventually it also became a Catholic school for boys.
The St Edmund's College Summer School is a British Council accredited company, currently ranked in the top 5% of UK English language centres. We operate junior summer schools for students aged 9-17, from our beautiful 400+ acre site in Hertfordshire, and our programmes have a balanced mix of classroom and activity-based learning, excursions and fun, engaging content.
